About

Oblique is a static, browser-based workbench for exploring and building 2.5D game worlds on an orthogonal square grid. Its standalone pages include a model sandbox for editing sprites and anchors, inspecting Y-depth sorting and collisions, painting terrain, and exploring a scene; a Playground scene builder for composing 16x16 scenes with terrain and sprite painting, per-sprite scaling, NPC behavior, ordered events, and local save/import/export; a terrain-layer prototype for procedural substrates, water, and shoreline foam; and a larger Beach Camp coastal scene. The sandbox includes player movement, wandering NPCs, shadows, camera controls, and debug overlays. A companion Sprites workshop previews GLB/glTF turntable views and animation frames and exports sprite sheets or cropped sprites for use in scenes.

Summary

A collection of browser-based experiments for building scenes and testing sprites, depth sorting, terrain layers, water, and interactive coastal scenes on an orthogonal grid.
