Gemini CLI Agent Bootstrap
Persistent instructions, directives and memory for the Gemini CLI agent
About
gemini_bootstrap is a framework for customizing interactive sessions with the Google Gemini Agent CLI. Its core is gemini_bootstrap.md, an operating manual the agent reads at the start of a session to configure behavior. It provides guiding principles, an extensible shorthand directive language, snapshot/undo for files, automatic 5-letter directory aliases for workspace folders, and session logging via templates. It targets problems like context decay, role drift, state desynchronization and directive sprawl, and uses Git as a persistence layer so the configuration and logs stay consistent across environments. Setup involves creating a ~/gemini/ workspace, cloning the repo, and optionally auto-loading the bootstrap on session start.
Summary
A Markdown-based framework that bootstraps Google Gemini Agent CLI sessions with persistent instructions, custom directives and session memory to reduce context decay, role drift and recall gaps.
